The physical surroundings on the earth are known as the environment. It includes all the living and nonliving things like animals, birds, pens, etc are examples of the environment.

Today’s our environment faces huge dangerous factors, these factors affecting us directly and indirectly negatively. Technology advancement provides a lot of facilities to us but it harms us. Now a day the world is facing these top environmental issues on the side of the environment are below:

• Pollution

• Global warming

• Waste disposal

• Ozone layer depletion

• Acid rain

• Natural resource depletion

• Overpopulation

• Deforestation

• Loss of biodiversity

• Climate change

Climate Change:

Climate change is a significant concern in today’s picture. In the last few decades, it has been increasing. Hothouse gases are the major cause of climate change. Environmental changes have several critical effects such as the melting of glaciers, change in seasons, epidemics, (COVID-19).

Global Warming:

The enhancement of the earth’s temperature across the globe is known as global warming. This is due fiery of fossil fuels, emissions from automobiles, and chlorofluorocarbons add to the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.

Ozone Layer Depletion:

The ozone layer is a layer of determining ozone gas. It protects us from the sun’s harmful ultraviolet rays. This very essential layer is being destroyed by CFCs (chlorofluorocarbons), which are used in industries and everyday life (e.g. aerosol cans).

Because of the depletion of the ozone layer, many dangerous diseases have come into existence. Wildlife animals & some human diseases are taking place like cancer which is very harmful to us and for wildlife.

Pollution:

Pollution is very common in our society but only a few people are aware of a good deal of pollution, they only consider air as pollution but noise, water, light are also types of pollution which directly & indirectly affect our environment.

Harmful substances into rivers, oceans, lakes, and ponds, which change the physical, chemical, or biological condition of the water, is called water pollution. The polluted water lacks oxygen and therefore the organisms die.

The result of emissions from the industries, automobiles, and increasing use of fossil fuels is called air pollution. These things increase the earth’s temperature.

Waste disposal:

Illiteracy is high in our community. They are not disciplined, after eating they throw garbage in the streets, roads in the rooms, etc. Proper disposal of waste is very necessary for us because it harms us extremely. The discipline associated with the generation, storage, collection, transfer and transport, processing, and disposal of solid waste in a manner that does not have a harmful effect on the environment.

Deforestation:

It is the process of diminution of trees and forests at an alarming rate. Trees not only provide us shadows but also provide oxygen, raw material, and also maintain the temperature of the earth. For the cutting of trees for commercial purposes, there has been a drastic change in the earth’s climate. Wildlife animals, biodiversity & birds are in danger because of a shortage of trees.

Overpopulation:

The world population is dramatically increasing with passing time, but resources are limited. Now the estimated world population is 7.8 billion people. If it will increase like this, then it will be more difficult for the world to maintain or control the limited resources at a reasonable level.

Loss of Biodiversity:

Loss of biodiversity is another problem facing our environment. It refers to the different living organisms on the earth like animals, plants, fungi, and even microorganisms like bacteria that make up our natural world. Deforestation is the reason for losing biodiversity.

Natural resource depletion:

Natural resources are Allah Pak gifted. They exist on the earth without man’s actions and state. Air, coal, natural gas, oil, copper, etc are examples of natural resources. Natural resource depletion means the use of resources at a faster rate as they restock.

Acid Rain:

Acid rain means the partaker of the substance of sulphuric and nitric acid in the rain. Pure water has a pH of 7, and rainfall is on the acidic side (less than 6). But, acid rain can have a pH of about 5.0–5.5, and can even be in the 4 range in the north-eastern United States, where there are a lot of industries and cars. A huge number of industries and a shortage of trees are the primary reasons for acid rains.

How can we protect our environment?

Solution means the strategies and process by which we can control and resolve these problems and also minimize the risk of future disasters or we can also define it as designed to solve an environmental problem. Permits, agency approvals, allocations of budgeted funds, and site requirements are all typical examples of actions necessary to implement a solution already approved by law.

Environmental issues are a warning of the upcoming tragedy. If these issues are not controlled, there will soon be no life on the earth.

Solutions to Environmental Issues:

  • Put back dumping items with reusable items.
  • Using paper should be avoided. We should educate our community.
  • Save water and electricity.
  • Support environmentally-friendly practices.
  • Recycle waste to conserve natural resources.
  • Use energy more efficiently.
  • Travel less.
  • Ship goods more efficiently.
  • We must plant a tree to control climate change
  • Use lights properly because high lights also create inconvenience for people
